Lath, and layouts, and bathrooms, oh my!

What an exciting week it has been! Between demo and starting the process of designing the first bathrooms, Dane and I definitely have our hands full! Last Saturday, some family and friends helped us start to tackle the second floor lath, and just like most projects, it took longer than we expected… Even so, we made great progress! Until it’s all removed, I guess Dane and I will just have to have date nights at the hotel! Super romantic, I know! Haha!

Along with all the demo, this week was also a big week because we met with Someone’s in the Kitchen to discuss the hotel bathrooms! (For those who aren’t local and for anyone who may not know, Someone’s in the Kitchen specializes in BOTH kitchens and bathrooms. Who knew? Haha) Let’s just say that if I wasn’t feeling overwhelmed before that meeting, I was definitely overwhelmed after! There are so many details that have to be hashed out in order to start the bathrooms and also, the bathrooms are going to be the FIRST design element that we face. They will definitely set the tone for how the whole hotel will feel… but no pressure, right?! But as overwhelming as it was, the meeting was equally as exciting and that’s what I am choosing to focus on!

Since we announced our plans with the Knox, when we run into people and they realize we’re the ones doing this, they almost always say “wow, big project!” We agree! This is a HUGE project and it is very overwhelming at times (pretty much every day, haha), but both Dane and I agreed before we signed our names on the dotted line that it would all be worth it.  We committed to that together.  That this project would be worth the long days, late nights, and daily stress, the endless decisions to be made, the countless hours taken from family and friends, because we know Princeton will benefit from it and we want to leave a lasting impression on this town that has meant so much to our family!
